From my perspective that lady was a pushover. If I bought a bag of cookies and I thought someone was stealing them I'd say something. But anyway, it's important to always look at things from the other side. Without going into details, I lost several thousand dollars on a friend in just a few months. To forgive that person I had to first see things from their point of view. 'I hate you' had to become 'I might not agree with what you did or how you acted, but I understand and I forgive you.' For our own peace of mind we have to be able to relate to others and carry ourselves with a certain level of empathy and understanding. Things are not always as they seem.

Good job. Reminded me of a sermon I heard awhile back of a man w/ unruly children on the train. Kids acting up and father not doing anything to discipline. When confronted he was deeply apologetic – noting that had just returned from the hospital where his wife had passed and the kids where acting out.
That has always stayed with me and I try to approach each interaction w/ an attempt of awareness.
